Audition Requirements
Auditions for Medisky Oboe Studio don't need to be perfect, but should demonstrate the student's knowledge of oboe fingerings, ability to play scales, and ability to read music and rhythms. This will be a teaching audition, and students will receive instruction in all areas as they play through the requirements.
For beginners and 1st year players who aren't sure if they want to audition for me yet, check out the Student Teacher Program and work with one of my advanced high school students!
First Year Players

F major, 1 octave

B♭ Major, 1 octave
Feel free to play both if you are able!

Play at least two selections from your school band book to demonstrate:
knowledge of oboe fingerings
understanding of basic rhythm
ability to read accidentals
ability to follow articulation

Middle School Students

consistent tone
rhythmic accuracy
finger technique
articulation
dynamics
